John Done

John was called to the Bar in 1983 and began his career in private practice and as a Psychiatric Patient Advocate. Since 1988, he has been with Kingston Community Legal Clinic, serving as Executive Director for all but one year. John holds a JD from the University of Western Ontario Law School, a LLM from Osgood Hall Law School and an MPA from Queen’s University. He has also volunteered with the International Senior Lawyers Project in Thailand and Laos, supporting access to justice internationally.
William Florence

William has been a summer student, articling student, and is now a staff lawyer at Kingston Community Legal Clinic. He also previously worked as a staff lawyer at The Legal Clinic in Sharbot Lake, formerly known as Rural Legal Services.
William holds two undergraduate degrees from York University and earned his law degree from Queen’s University Faculty of Law. He was called to the degree of Barrister-at-Law in 2006. William practices in all areas of clinic law.
Kimberly Hurt

Kimberly is a licensed paralegal who has been part of the Legal Clinic team since 1998. She joined the Legal Clinic as front-line staff before becoming a paralegal in 2008. Kimberly specializes in social assistance law and represents clients at the Social Benefits Tribunal. In addition to client work, she provides legal education to the public, government agencies and health care professionals.
Kim enjoys the fast-paced, rewarding work at the Legal Clinic and takes pride in helping people navigate challenging situations.
Lauren Thompson

Lauren is a lawyer specializing in housing and tenancy law. She represents clients before the Landlord and Tenant Board and is dedicated to advancing tenants’ rights. Lauren began her legal career in private practice at a multi-practice firm, focusing on business law and employment law, before transitioning to the clinic environment to advocate for tenants’ rights and access to justice.
Lauren earned her law degree from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and was called to the Bar in 2022. She holds a law degree from the University of Ottawa, and has studied at Algonquin College, University of Windsor, University of Leicester, University of Guelph, and ENEB Barcelona, and Harvard University. Lauren has received international advocacy awards and completed placements with government and the courts. She is committed to providing thoughtful, client-focused legal advice.

Rachel Evans

Rachel joined the legal clinic in 2008 as an Administrative Assistant and became Office Manager in 2010. She holds a diploma in Office Administration and a Bookkeeping Certificate, and manages the clinic’s day-to-day administrative and financial operations. With many years at the clinic, Rachel brings deep knowledge of its work and a practical, people-focused approach to supporting staff, leadership, and clients.
Rachel is proud to use her skills to support access to justice in the Kingston community.

Michelle Molloy

Michelle is a versatile professional with an extensive background in administration and communications across various sectors. A graduate in Public Safety Communications, she is further pursuing studies in Community and Social Justice, reflecting her deep commitment to equity and well-being. Michelle brings valuable experience in crisis response and trauma-informed care, with a compassionate and grounded approach to supporting others. Outside of work, she finds joy in travel and gardening, always exploring new places and nurturing life around her.
